ISU Dining is dedicated to supporting students with medically restricted diets through our Special Diet Kitchen (SDK) in Union Drive Marketplace. Access to the SDK requires an approval process to ensure we can meet individual needs effectively. You can find our specialized SDK menus online. Our dietitian is also available to assist with any questions or dietary concerns. We strive to provide quality foods and knowledgeable staff to all eligible students.

Request SDK Access

To initiate a request, contact Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at accessibility@iastate.edu. Once SAS has reviewed documentation from your medical provider, they’ll email you an accommodation decision.

If you receive approval from SAS, submit a Special Diets Kitchen Request Form (Submit Annually). Don’t forget to attach a Risk Waiver and a Housing and Dining Accommodation Request Form. Forms may also be emailed to diningrd@iastate.edu.

When we have received and filed all documentation, our registered dietitian will connect with you. At that time, your access will be confirmed. Any question you have about your accommodation can be emailed to diningrd@iastate.edu or you can set up a time to meet with our registered dietitian.
